Ok so im downloading these kewl new screensavers (new to me) and i find this one i really like but i have to register it. However, i know i can do what he did (water ripple effect on the desktop) so i figured i would program it. I dont know how to run a screensaver over the desktop tho. Like have it edit the desktop to get kewl effects. I dont know if thats a good description...anyways does anybody know what i need to make a screensaver that draws on the desktop?

Well, I think the trick is actually taking a screenshot of your desktop at the very beginning of the program, and then manipulating that screenshot, which gives the illusion of drawing directly to your desktop.
