Does anyone know a place that steps you through a simple game making process using Andre Lamothe''s TOTWGPG library/console? I''ve been reading the chapters over, and it would help if there were examples. Sure, he gives examples, but I''m looking for something simple, like tetris. I saw the tetris tutorial on the gamedev forums, but I can''t seem to find the files (his site is down). Anyway, I''m desperate! I feel like giving up, but find myself in the book again and again. I really want to learn this stuff.

Have you tried putting an image on the screen yet? It might help to get some experience... then move onto the GUI and stuff.

There is, btw, an excellent Tetris tutorial already on the web. It uses older DirectX, but everything''s practically the same.

I keep thinking it''s http://www.scorpioncity.com/djdirectxtut.html but I think it had Wolf in its title, I downloaded it a long time ago and was amazed how it compiled... unlike most source...

ok, I just checked, that''s not it... but I do have it downloaded on my home comp. When I get home, I might be able to find it.

I used to find it using basic keywords like game directx tutorial programming, etc... I know it had DirectX, GDI, and a tetris clone. I believe it was mostly GDI, but if so, you should be able to convert it, it''s just filled RECTs. later.
