You guys know of some websites that can help come up with a good name for a game & film company? I''ve come up with several but so far everything''s taken. I''m looking for something ending with "Studios" I like "Smoking Monkey Studios" but I''m worried people will assume we encourage people to smoke, which of course isn''t true. Harder Than It Sounds
Microsoft Studios?
Names are tough. Best bet is to try combining things to get an odd sounding name.
Square Monkey
Blue Monkey
Monkey Puzzle

etc etc

I''d not use the word monkey. People will think you are a bunch o'' monkeys then
Well, it really depends on what genre you are focusing on. For example, Smoking Monkey Studios to me would infer an action genre. (Although I don''t know why.)

Horror:
Bloody Axe Studios
Fantasy:
Stormblade Studios
Science Fiction:
Stargazer Studios

You get the idea.

We''re probably going with "Aeternum Studios" (its Latin, pronounced "EEE-turn-um") -- a name that (hopefully) reflects our desire to develop products that have a lasting impact on the industry, in terms of story, scope, emotion, message, and so forth.

Comments would be welcome.

One comment: Names (both for companies and in some cases people like actors) need to be easy to spell and prononce if you ever hope to have brand name recognition.
