Because you can''t get OpenGL1.4 under Windows doesn''t mean that OpenGL1.4 is not available at all.
In Linux, IRIX (the OS for Silicon Graphics Workstations) and everything *NIX there are headers available, as well as libraries and binaries, to fully support OpenGL1.4 ... that''s only Mr Microsoft that is "too lazy" to provide OpenGL1.4

Errmmm. I''m a bit confused now. How are you supposed to make use of the new features of OpenGL 1.4 if there are no new versions of the header files?

A new standard simply says "The following extensions are now required to be compliant with OpenGL 1.4". So, the features have existed as extensions for a while, it''s just that they''re now required as normal functions. Of course, access to these features is available as if they were extensions for compatilibity with out-dated MCD implementations.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up. So as long as I have the latest glext.h file I should be able to use most GL 1.4 features. I guess I''ll have to update my nVidia drivers as well as mine are still GL1.3.
I think the reason Microshite aren''t updating the GL headers is because they''re more interested in developing Direct X further than OpenGL. The gits.
It''s true that the OpenGL vs Direct3D match doesn''t help Windows users to get a decent interface with OpenGL. Anyhow nobody really knows *the* reason. There are some other issues...
