Hi everyone. Sent in my first little mini demo to NeHe the other day, and now I see that he''s posted a link to it in the news He calls it ''Cool Effect'', it''s the second to last paragraph. It''s a rather interesting effect with many possibilities. Anyways, I was just wondering what everyone thought of it; and whether or not you would enjoy seeing some more of the strange little things I''ve stumbled upon in open gl.
That has alot of possibilities.. could be used as the core of a reactor or something like that, or you could use it almost like a particle engine for spells if you have that in your engine. I''ve been messing around with it some, and it makes me wonder, is it possible to directly affect the tex coords of a quadric in a similar fasion? That could have very interesting results. Personally I''d like to see more stuff like this, new ideas are what drive things forward.

It''s a very nice effect.
To say the truth, the first time I saw the effect I wondered "how the hell is it possible" until I opened the source file
The trick is very interesting. It shows one of the infinite possibilities that can be done with texture mapping.

Almost everybody maps a texture as an orthogonal image on a polygon, but in fact it can be mapped really differently and then give incredible effects such as the ''Cool Effect''

Keep up the good work !
