GreatEngine: Whats up with that?
I downloaded the greatengine, and its, umm, not that great. On my machine the terrain was all messed up; the water was over everthing and it had all kinds of weird artifacts. The MD3 lauracroft was pretty good but the model rendering misses polygons all the time.
The best part was the download was the Glfw configuration library.
well, the programmer DID say that he did it in his spare time,
and he was nice enough to release it and the source to the
general public. it ran great on my machine..
just remember, snide comments like these keep other
programmers from sharing their source with the community.

The GreatEngine, well, works great for me. Very nicely done for an engine done in the programmers spare time.

-----For I have seen the face of evil and it will not soon be forgotten.
Worked pretty well. I mean, it wasn''t Quake III, but it was better than 90% of the demos I''ve seen.
Things that would''ve been nice:
*Particle systems
*Col-det (I couldn''t collide with Lara; was that just me?)
*Skydome
*Wavy water
*Fog
But like I said, it was good overall. I think you could make a decent game from it with a little effort.
Peace,
ZE.

the coolest thing about the engine in my opinion is the author''s
implementation of LUA.. i havent messed with lua much, but
im hoping to learn alot from his methods.

Hi,
is it possible that Visual Studio .NET is more accuratly like VS 6, because with .NET i get a lot of "double defined functions Math.cpp <-> 3DMath.cpp"?
So I can't completly build the engine

I think it would be nice if the "author" gave credit for his sources of the source code. I haven''t browsed through all of it, but some of it is from the Torque engine (GarageGames), and some of it is code written by people I know.

yeah i second that, with a quick look at the source its obvious that it was pulled from various places around the net.
