For me, by far, Thief is the most emotional single-player experience I''ve ever had. My heart would (and still does actually) beat so fast it was like *I''m* the one sneaking through the Hammer''s factory beneath Cragscleft prison. Hearing the clang of metal as you step across it, hoping the two thugs you''re following didn''t hear it. I think it''s the only game I''ve ever played that grabbed me by the neck and pulled me into the monitor.
