Guys, Don''t know where this should be directed but I bought an EXCELLENT book called Teach Yourself C by Herbert Schildt. This book is THE best book I have read regarding beginners C. It is written in plain english, detailed explanations together with excellent examples AND really REALLY good amount of exercises for the beginner. In addition there is a Mastery Skills Check at the end of each chapter, meaning don''t go forward unless you can do the exercises listed. Bloody BRILLIANT book.
I''ve heard bad things books he''s written:

If you are about to start learning C or C++ then my advice is to stay away from Shildt’s books – they look great to a beginner but anyone with any experience will tell you that they are full of mistakes.

I have one of his books - on programming for Windows 95. It''s ok. I''ve learned more from other places and just by doing it.
