Any one heard of this book?

Has any one had any experience sith this book: Microsoft Visual Basic Game Programming with DirectX with CDROM I have a 2 questions about it. 1) is it for a beginner (explains vb first) 2) what is on the cd (vb itself, code, etc....) any general opinions would be welcome. sinclair393@hotmail.com

- Advice, eh? Well, besides working on your swing...you know, besides that...I'd have to think.
1. You should at least know the basics of VB first, otherwise you will find it a bit hard to understand in places. I bought the book some time ago, read it, and was rather confused about some parts. I then read another VB book, which cleared up the confusion. The moral: you should know some VB first. That said, the book does provide a crash course, which is of course incapable of explaining everything you may need to know.
2. The CD does not contain the actual VB IDE, however, it does have all the source code from the book, and accompanying graphics, etc. The CD also contains some extra support software, trials and demos and such.

Be aware that the source code in the book is not always correct: I found some spelling errors and such, which, when running the program, would raise an error message. Check the source on the CD before going nuts. You should still type out the source code from the book, that''s how you learn, by doing. The erros are minor; checking the code on the CD will yield the solution.
