I''m sure many of my nerden brethren have read the great novel "Microserfs" by Douglas Coupland. If thou hath not, I suggest readint it, it''s about microsoft employees going through wierd psychoses etc. etc. and is very interesting, - by the author of "Generation X." Anyway, I was just wondering, does anybody have this book in digital format??? If so PLEASE email it to me (modilly@hotmail.com) by clicking on my profile or something or reply to this post w/ some info-info! thnx!, SPAR1

Ugh, I hated that book.

No plot at all --just various unlikeable characters making pop-culture references at each other for 200 pages, peppered with pages of Coupland making random commentary about his personal fetishes in random-size fonts, all culminating in the astounding revelation that Legos are cool.

IMHO, Coupland''s the most overrated author out there.

(my byline from the Gamedev Collection series, which I co-edited) John Hattan has been working steadily in the casual game-space since the TRS-80 days and professionally since 1990. After seeing his small-format games turned down for what turned out to be Tandy's last PC release, he took them independent, eventually releasing them as several discount game-packs through a couple of publishers. The packs are actually still available on store-shelves, although you'll need a keen eye to find them nowadays. He continues to work in the casual game-space as an independent developer, largely working on games in Flash for his website, The Code Zone (www.thecodezone.com). His current scheme is to distribute his games virally on various web-portals and widget platforms. In addition, John writes weekly product reviews and blogs (over ten years old) for www.gamedev.net from his home office where he lives with his wife and daughter in their home in the woods near Lake Grapevine in Texas.

okay, johnhattan, you just completely killed my ambittion for wanting to read that again, thanks for the reminder hehe
Try Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution by Steven Levy. IMHO, it''s better in all respects.

And, on top of it all, it actually happened.

. They''re both quite good.
