I just got sent an online 'skills assessment' from a consultantcy. Now, I've not worked professionally as a developer, but I'm pretty sure that knowing MSVC# command line compiler flags is not a good indication of your ability to write clear, functional code. Granted, it (and worse questions) perhaps are a good indication that you can quickly find and digest random esoteria, but I doubt professional HR drones can make that distinction.
